The Trading Workbench Module constitutes the main user interface and API for the day-to-day process of originating and managing the loan portfolio. The Workbench leverages the Loan Pricing Module, the Bidding Algorithms Module, the Integration Services, and the Alerting Service to enable traders to view active loan candidates, price these opportunities, and manage the loan origination process.
At any point in time, The Trading Workbench acts as a window into the workflow of the investment lifecycle, from loan identification to loan funding. With the help of Optalytic's Integration Services, traders can see all of the various active loan requests, aggregated from across the various Peer-to-Peer Marketplaces, and act on these requests. The robust workflow engine can be configured to take both automated and user-initiated actions on loan requests to optimize the productivity of the trader.
By leveraging the Loan Pricing and Bidding Algorithims Modules, the workflow management features of the Trading Workbench can be set to apply analyst-defined credit filters and pricing thresholds from the Loan Pricing Module to the various loan requests as they flow into the Workbench. After automatically excluding loan prospects based on these criteria, the Workbench can be configured to alert the trader to take various user-defined actions. Some examples would include actions to:
- Query the potential borrower to explain aspects of their credit history
- Clear the loan request for addition to the bidding queue
- Notify the trader should the current winning interest rate on a loan prospect dip below a pre-defined level
- Manually place bids on specific loan prospects
- Alert the trader when the funding period for specific loan prospects is about to expire
With this sophiscated loan-level, conditions-based workflow capability, the Workbench greatly streamlines the loan origination process, enabling institutional investors to make Peer-to-Peer loan investments at scale, without having to rely on the retail-focused tools provided by the various Peer-to-Peer Marketplaces.
